Flooring Solutions Ltd was appointed to carry out a commercial safety flooring installation at Life Leisure Houldsworth Village, covering three main corridors throughout the facility — a total area of approximately 100.00 m².

Polyflor Polysafe Verona — Dolphin Grey (5203)
The safety flooring specified for this project was Polyflor Polysafe Verona in the Dolphin Grey colourway (reference 5203). Polysafe Verona is a premium safety vinyl flooring product engineered to deliver reliable, sustainable slip resistance across the full lifetime of the floor — a critical requirement in the wet and varied conditions typical of a leisure facility corridor environment. It carries the independently verified Low Slip Potential classification, ensuring that the risk of slips and falls is consistently managed regardless of whether floors are wet or dry.
The Dolphin Grey colourway provides a clean, contemporary neutral finish that is well suited to the professional environment of a modern leisure centre. Its understated tone works effectively alongside the existing interior palette at Houldsworth Village, creating a fresh, hygienic appearance throughout the corridor areas. The PUR surface treatment incorporated into the Polysafe Verona product also simplifies the ongoing maintenance regime, reducing the time and cost associated with keeping floors clean and presentable in a high-use facility.
Ardex CL Plus Screed
Prior to the safety flooring installation, the substrate across all three corridors was prepared using Ardex CL Plus, a high-performance calcium sulphate-based smoothing and levelling compound. Ardex CL Plus was applied to address surface irregularities and achieve the consistently flat, smooth substrate required for a successful safety vinyl installation. In a leisure facility environment, where substrate conditions may be affected by moisture, heavy equipment, and the residual effects of years of intensive use, thorough preparation is essential to ensuring the long-term integrity and performance of the finished floor. Uzin KE2000S Adhesive
Polyflor Polysafe Verona was bonded throughout using Uzin KE2000S, a high-performance, pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive designed for bonding safety vinyl floor coverings to a wide range of prepared substrates. KE2000S provides excellent green grab during installation and a robust, long-lasting bond in service — ensuring the safety flooring remains securely fixed underfoot even under the demanding conditions of a busy leisure corridor. Its suitability for use over calcium sulphate-based levelling compounds made it the natural adhesive choice to complement the Ardex CL Plus substrate preparation carried out prior to installation.
